A Fraction of a Second Later

I have posted one version of this photograph on Instagram before.

This new version above was taken about one-tenth of a second later as you surely can tell…

I also remembered when I edited this photo that it was taken with a manual focus lens? I entered the photo pit with my father’s old 50mm f/1.4 Pentax lens attached to my Fujifilm X-T1 with an adapter.

Fortunately, I got a few keepers with that lens during the concert. But it was more down to luck than anything. Shooting a concert with a manual focus lens is possible but it certainly does not make it easier.

What was I thinking?

A few moments later I shot this image with the Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 autofocus lens and looked at what happened? There are no guarantees when it comes to photography.

If someone could put me in contact with the person responsible for microphone placement on stage…
